Cost-effectiveness of pollution control measures in Tanzania

Abstract:

Green house gases (GHGs)emission in Tanzania is increasingly problem due to economic growth. Stringent control mechanisms are required to supplement the current mechanisms which are claimed to be inefficient. The current mechanisms, penal laws and environmental laws are not economic oriented.The green taxation, subsidies and tax relief are highly recommended. Green taxation has proved difficulties in various developed countries where the money collected from taxation were not to protect the environment. The essay argue that, introductioN of green taxation in Tanzania needs a comprehensive study to adjudicate its feasibility in Tanzania.
