Abstract:
The paper discusses the origin, content and development of traditional communication methods for the two communities over time. It decries the inadequacy of government communication methods used in establishing Viable communication between it and its subjects. The paper also focuses on the advantages, weaknesses and potential of indigenous communication methods. The discussion points out the lack ofreplicability of traditional communication methods across cultural boundaries. It further argues that understanding of these weaknesses ofindigenous communication systems is in itself a concrete step towards realising their potential use in the long term as these can be corrected and/or modified to become universally accepted.
