Abstract:
Agricultural technologies for the resource poor smallholder farmers of the Southern Highlands need to be formulated as multiple products tailored to the individual needs of the diverse client groups and production systems. Although some progress has been made, agricultural recommendations for the Southern Highlands remain single ‘blanket' prescriptions. In this paper, three different examples of research aimed at adapting agricultural technologies to farmer circumstances are presented.
