Levels and Determinants of Expenditures on the Treatment of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania

The study sought to provide answers to questions on levels of expenditures on the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania, and to analyze the major determinants of the expenditure pattern and financing levels. The study used secondary qualitative information and data from various research studies and documents from government Ministries, donor agencies and NGOs. Primary data were collected by interviewing officials in the government and NGOs whose activities are related to the control and prevention of HIV/AIDS, and from a workshop held in Dar es Salaam which brought together key stakeholders.
